The Lover blog

Part of redefining Lover’s brand centered around injecting its content with peer-reviewed research — and personality. I drew on medical journals and my decade-plus of experience as a sex journalist to update and streamline content to reach new audiences. In my first 90 days as a consultant, I improved the following KPIs:

+95%
page views

+125%
unique visits

The Lover app UX writing

One of Lover’s distinguishing features was user profiles that asked, “What kind of lover are you?” I reimagined a set of these profiles to align with contemporary language around sexuality and the brand’s evolving style. This update aimed to:

  • Modernize the app’s tone and feel

  • Improve user engagement and self-reflection

  • Provide a personalized experience for each user

By rewriting this key UX element, I helped transform a central app feature to better resonate with Lover’s target audience. The updated profiles encouraged users to explore their sexual identities in a positive, shame-free environment, supporting the app’s mission to promote sexual wellness and education.
